When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When it rains, make a waterfall. But that is now as good as being complacent. And ‘complacency’ is one ‘C’ word which does not belong to the list of desirable and coveted ‘C’s in Singapore.
In addition to making lemonade, we need to save some lemons for the seeds, in order to get even more lemons by planting our very own lemon trees, to make even more lemonade.
However, we should not be carried away with making more lemons out of non-existent lemons or we would end up like the increasing number of bankrupts who had exhausted their credit facilities indiscriminately.
My mother used to say, “Don’t spend beyond your means.”
